    It all sounds so great.
I have bought nearly every raw food dvd and book available. I don’t see one recipe that I can do. I have only made a lot of publishers and authors very rich.
I know that a raw food diet would make my life livable again and reverse my diabetes, but the diet is impossible.
God bless those who have been able to break through the barriers.

    Hello!
Everyone keeps saying that eating raw is great, but noone will tell me exactly what I need to eat to be healthy and active.

I’ve been eating raw for almost two months now and I am tired all the time, lost 15 lbs and I am getting very frustrated. I can’t do my workouts or exercise for very long. I want someone to tell me what I should be eating to be healthy. I need something concrete, not just an abstract idea.. HELP!!!!

    Hi,
I just wanted to tell you that I’ve started to reverse diabetes on a raw food diet.
I’m 72 years old, I weighed 222 lbs and my blood sugar was 202 when I started.
I’ve been on the diet for 12 days. This morning my FBS was 100 and I weighed
214 pounds. I am thrilled. I wouldn’t have known about it without your web sight.
    Thank you!
    Asenath
ps, I went off Metformin before starting on the process.

This video brought tears to my eyes - the transformation in body mind & spirit is so profound. My issue is muscle wastage/soreness and weight loss (I weigh 102 and typically weigh 120). Have lowered my blood sugar from 300+ to below 200 and feeling so much better (about 30% raw, organic diet so far) but how do I GAIN weight?? Thanks for all you do - you are an inspiration to me. 7. Lynne says:

I see survivors of type II, it’s a challenge but not out of reach.

My delima is type I, for which I’ve never heard or seen anybody say they have a high success program to even achieve 75% results; the best I’ve heard is 60%,

When I see diets, etc. info., it doesn’t really address type I for adults, or it’s termed child, onset. I think mine started with having a hypoglycemic condition as a young adult and not knowing what it was.
You can’t skip meals, even though you eat good foods generally, can’t cheat the body’s need to have food to metabolize. Minerals is a biggie too.

How about a look at hypoglycemia in your presentations?
    Thanks much, Lynne

We’re going to do some work in the next couple of weeks to show you some really easy ways to be raw. Keep an eye out for it. I understand your frustration with figuring out what to eat and how to stay raw. We’ll work to get you some REALLY simple stuff that you can make ASAP. Thanks for your support!

  9. Tonja says:

For those of you who are struggling, start with eating according to the book “Eat to Live” or “Eat for Health” by Joel Fuhrman. This will move you toward more raw, more veges overall, and you will feel a difference in your health and a decrease in cravings, etc., as your body gets healthier. Do that first, and then you can start increasing the amount of raw food that you eat.

  10. Carly says:

Awesome job guys! Congratulations! I’m trying to go 100% raw myself. The hardest part is the lack of time to make fresh juice and a raw lunch in the morning before work. Wendi, it looks like we share a birthday! Keep up the good work you two by spreading the word.

  11. jane b says:

Summer is a great time to start going raw! I live in a Zone 6 climate (mountains of southwestern Virginia), so I have a limited outdoor growing season. I keep a huge garden–nothing tastes better than fresh tomatoes warmed by the sun–except plunging face-first into a juicy watermelon.

We’ve just had our final frost for the year, so tomorrow Yukon Gold potatoes go in along with a variety of different onions. Sunday is the first day to plant “above ground” crops, so in go the tomato transplants, the cocozelle zucchini squash, peaches and cream corn, jade green beans, cucumbers, watermelon, cantaloupe and another round of salad greens. All future yummies!

This morning, we harvested the first strawberries from the patch we put in last year. The wild raspberries have set, and the blackberries are blooming. There are apple trees all over the area where old homesteads have disappeared but the orchards live on. A few pear trees, too.

There is a huge national push to eat local, and this is great for going RF. If you can’t have your own garden, look for farmers markets, roadside stands or other local outlets. One of our local supermarkets makes an effort to get their produce from growers within a 100 mile radius, and this store is one of the cheapest around.

I’m still transitioning (hot tea and cocoa are necessities around here in winter), but I make an effort to eat as much raw as I can. It doesn’t have to be that complicated–and it doesn’t have to be just salads either.

  12. Lisa says:

Check out the video raw for 30 days.

  13. Gail says:

I can sympathize with those having trouble figuring out what to eat on the raw food diet. I had the same problem. It seemed like everything needed either a dehydrator, high-speed blender or high powered juicer. Take heart, none of these are necessary to get started eating raw. If you want simple, accessible raw food recipes get Raw Food Made Easy for 1 or 2 people by Jennifer Cornbleet. The recipes are easy and tasty and best of all, no fancy equipment required. Since I’ve started using this book, raw has become so much easier.

  14. Lynne Ledingha says:

Hi! Great job Wendi & Jim! You are an inspiration. I’ve been eating about 80% raw for 3 weeks. I have no fancy equipment. I did buy the book ‘Rainbow Green Live-Food Cuisine’ by Gabriel Cousens, M.D. which tells all of the reasons to go RF and the other half is full of raw receipes. Go to http://www.treeoflife.com for info and order the book. Dr. Cousens has also assisted Type I diabetics get off their meds. I saw a video conference about his program and that is what prompted me to go raw. I am at least 50 lbs. overweight tight. I’ve lost only 5 lbs on RF, but lost 15 lbs previously after losing my carb cravings after being put on an antidepressant. It was a godsend, but I’m sure it is not for everyone. We are all so different chemically.

I also get hungry for warm food when it is cool. I get falafel mix at my health food store, pour hot water over it and stir. Then scoop it like a dip with celery, cuke slices, jicama, red peppers. Loving Bragg Liquid Aminos along with extra virgin olive oil on my salads. I think that those who are losing too much weight aren’t using the nuts and oils to hold their weight up where it should be. I should cut back on mine and I would probably lose more weight. I also have to get more active. After losing 21 lbs my hips rarely hurt, I have a ton of energy, feel like I’m 30 again! I find that I can watch people eat food that you just know are poisoning them and don’t feel like I want that food. I don’t feel critical or envious. I’m just happy with my results.

Oh, the woman with itching. Sounds like you are detoxing to me. You have been on it for such a short time, and if you have been eating toxic foods for a long time, you will take longer to detox. The answer is to drink lots of water to flush it from your body. Maybe more oils, avocados, nuts will help in case it is a lack of moisture in your cells. Or, perhaps you have eaten something you didn’t know you were allergic to. Just trying to help yall.

  15. Colleen says:

It is so sad that every morning I wait to see if my Dad will wake up. He is type 2 diabetic and is on a huge amount of meds. He takes insulin shots before every meal now and his diabetes is out of control. 3 days ago he had a reading of 28! I understand anything over 21 and you should actually be in a coma in the hospital! MDs just push the pills…I am trying to fight for my dads life and have been encouraged by my Health Coach to get into the Raw food movement. Thank god someone is watching out for our best interests…it certainly isn’t the Western Medical Doctors. GO RAW

  16. To those who do not know what to eat. The best thing that I found was the green smoothie at Victoria Boutenko’s website rawfamiily.com .She also has a great book called green for life and 12 steps to raw.

  17. Jenni says:

Hs anyone recovered from Type 1 Diabetis ? Will our bodies regenerate a pancreas ?

  18. Mike says:

I love how you lost so much weight by learning how to love yourself and eating 100% raw. It really does feel good to eat eat all raw. I love the Pictures that show how it happens slowly and surely and how in the end you say you feel the best and you look it too. Great video. Its a must see by everyone i know.

  19. Butch says:

    Nicolas,

Why can’t you eat any fruits or vegetables?

  20. renee says:

many readers comment that a raw food diet is hard. most things new are difficult in the beginning because they are about change. be gentle with yourselves. make your changes slowly. begin eating more fruit and carrots or other raw vegetables you like already but didn’t make an effort to eat. don’t be hard on yourself, just watch your mind’s reactions. each of us is different. there isn’t one diet/recipe book out there with all the answers. YOU must listen to your body and decide what makes YOU thrive. if you are tired and have been on the diet for some time something must not be working. listen to the message and shift/change something and wait for the reaction. if it is positive, stick with it…if it is negative, great lesson, don’t do it again…TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR HEALTH…LISTEN TO THE MESSAGES OF YOUR BODY…if you are not able to hear the messages, find someone who can help you become aware. if you don’t trust anyone else, start doing things with your opposite hand and that may be enough to begin the journey of breaking internal habits so that you can awaken to your own inner guide. gabriel cousens’, conscious eating, is a resource that might resonate with you. many, many blessings on the journey to peace!

  21. renee says:

jenni, please watch the video raw for 30 days…you will find your answer…yes in fact, type 1 diabetes HAS been cured with a raw food diet.

  22. Chantel says:

I have been about 80% raw for only about 3 weeks and just now 90% for a week, which is a pleasant surprise to me as I don’t really want any cooked food or meat.
The most amazing thing about this way of living is that you don’t have to plan anything for your breakfasts or lunches. I read above that many are confused about what to eat and how to make everything. I eat fruit all day long. In the morning I have a wonderful green smoothie packed with everything good and then throughout the day I eat fruit and veggies.
I may add that I lift heavy weights as well as work out 6 days a week fairly intensely and this is the best thing I have ever done. The planning and trying to figure out what to eat and when was ridiculous and totally exhausting. I have gained muscle, lost the fat I couldn’t lose with a cooked diet, and I am NOT tired in any way, and I am craving cooked food less and less every day, and not on purpose, just the way it works.
I feel so amazing and fantastic and if you are having any issues with your raw diet, just go back to basics. You don’t need a dehydrator or processor, however I would recommend a blender. But eat your fruit and veggies, some nuts and seeds and you will not be hungry or lacking in anything, in fact, you will feel better than you have ever felt!

  23. Quinny says:

    Hi.

I tried going raw for 2 weeks when I was on my detox diet. I felt great, my digestion was greatly improved, join & muscle inflammation was also reduced. However, I’m really thin (5′1″ weight 95lb), I have lost 3 more lbs after the detox & raw food diet. I really wanted to try raw food, and I’m trying to find out how can I gain some weight or at least keep my current weight, really don’t want to loose more weight.

Could you teach me how to obtain more protein from a raw food diet?

    Thanks,
    Quinny

Wendi Dee has been such an inspiration to me. I love the heart she has even when others couldn’t see it. Choosing optimal health is a challenge because it requires consciousness, an act, awareness of decision. How wonderful that her words are so true.. keep making healthy choices & watch them become a way of life.

    Yes! *love*

  25. Lana says:

There’s a restaurant in Huntington Beach that will help you through the process. They have weight programs and menu plans and workshops that help you get to where you can do things at home. Try them out. Good to Go Restaurants, 5930 Warner Avenue, Huntington Beach, CA 92649 714.840.6400. They may even be able to deliver. I know they were working on having that available.

  26. Jackie Smith says:

I’d like to know how to eat more “healthy” protein, too. The nuts and seeds I buy here in the UK tend to be old before I eat them. Even “good” oils turn “bad” if they are not fresh.

In a morning I usually blend together a raw egg or some tofu with soya milk and “greens” supplements like spirulina plus some ground mixed seeds/nuts, but I’ve read that too much soya can be a problem, too.

If I cut out anything wrapped in plastic because of the dioxins (even water!), is there anythin left that is actually “healthy”?

  27. Grant Thorn says:

I’ve been a Type 1 diabetic for 46 years and started eating raw a week ago.I’m already taking half the Insulin I used to and with vigorous exercise I don’t think I need any.It all comes down to common sense and getting to know God.The food he gave us should be the only food we eat. It’s not an easy change of life but when you start to see the results It gets easier every day.Love God and he will guide you through every thing.
