Have you noticed the word “change” in the news lately? With the inauguration of Barack Obama only 1 day away it is all that you hear about on the news. It has been the central theme of Barack Obama’s campaign. And love him or hate him one thing is clear, people are looking for change.
There is one important message that I have gotten from Barack Obama, one thing that I have heard him say numerous times. The change that many of us are looking for isn’t up to one person. While we all hope that Barack Obama will better the United States and the world (regardless of your political views) we also know that he alone is not going to magically make things better. It’s up to each and every one of us to make a difference.
And if you’re like me Health is an area that you know needs to change, not only in the United States but in the entire world. The food most people are eating is simply making them sick! We have more heart disease, more cancer, more diabetes and more chronic illness than EVER before.
So today, January 19th, 2009, we are announcing the launch of “The Movement to Reverse Diabetes Naturally” and we ask that you join us in helping to reverse the trend of skyrocketing diabetes rates. You can take a look at our new RDN Movement site here:
On this site we have integrated an amazing social network for diabetics and non-diabetics to communicate, share information and organize to help make a difference. We all know that the diabetes associations, funded by the drug companies, aren’t going to help us in getting out this important information that diabetes can be reversed.
We’re also going to be running a powerful, world wide event on April 25th, 2009. I’ll let you read the details of this event here:
http://www.rdnmovement.com/?page_id=143
We’re going to be organizing resources from around the world to help diabetics and non-diabetics that are looking to make change. We’ll be listing resources such as where to get raw foods, what health events are taking place and where to find health retreat centers in your area like the Tree of Life featured in the film “Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days.” We’ll also have articles written by many of the top health experts in the world.
So go ahead, check it out and please make sure to join The Movement to Reverse Diabetes Naturally. With your help we can change the health of the world one person at a time.

Sounds GREAT. The change you are recomending will be good for everyone.
Go ahead ! This is a wonderful job you are doing…
I bought the DVD “Simply raw…” as soon as it was on sale and am trying to make it be known wherever I go, but I have to translate it in French !
Lots of french speaking people are “left behind” these amazing health news, and it is really a pity. So we try (with my daughter) to spread the word on our blog (indicated above).
Good luck on this path !
Believe me - Dr’s are the problem here! To TRY to give advice towards one who is 100% advised by his/her Dr is where we all are in the UK. To state the ‘average’ amount of ‘pills’ that the individual is prescibed is startelling! With your Raw for Life present and being shown to people who answer - that they don’t belive what they have seen, is common. What is needed here is a roving, mobile, show it to you display, that parks up in a huge shopping centre and lets people see for themselves, with someone present who is ‘the example’ of how it will work for the ‘patient’. This will gain some standing, along with local newspaper advertisments to reach those who care. I do feel that this is going to be an up-hill battle aginst the drug barons. But I do expect that there will be some legislature that will pevent this happening. An example: our own chef ‘Jammie Oliver’ went before our British Parliament to state the importance of what his endevours were towards peopleeating better quality foods - especially the kids - before anythingwasstarted in the way of advertisments on our TV by the Government. It trakes time and HUGe amounts of money to try to get noticed, as we aren’t allowed to do what we feel is correct without being ‘allowed to do so’. That’s here in the UK. I do wish you could get someone of note, like a present day film star or, politician who has type 2 diabetes, to speak for your purpose. That will work! Best of all I trust inGod to show to me the way He would have us go and leave it to His guidance. Thanks for reading my comments. Peter Mitchell Nutritionist Dip
Such a great idea!
As a physician, it is frightening to see the overwhelming numbers of diabetics, pre diabetics and pre-pre diabetics (usually young obese children). I applaude your efforts and encourage you during your likely up hill climb. I’ve often noted that it’s much easier to change someones religion than to change their eating habits. The most successful ones tend to be motivated by an acute medical complication or witnessing the same in someone close to them. Many people, not just diabetics are more willing to take a pill than make personal change. Nonetheless we must continue getting the word out and motivating those who will listen (and take action) about this effective alternative.
Please, please, please listen to Dr Robert Young on the pHmiracle living website. His advice on how to overcome and avoid diabetes is of paramount importance to all sufferers.
Hola
I m glad you re doing something in English but I LIVE IN Mexico and I m shocked to see that so many people here have diabetes! Everything here is sweetened and people also eat lots of bad fats and don t seem to understand the consequences ( even when I talk to them!) . So , any chance you ll have a site in Spanish also? Elisabeth
This I hope will help me to get a grip!
Most of us already know that fresh is better no matter how we look at it!
Exercise is a must too!
The mind needs work to make that change and we all need support which may I add is different than whining about how hard it is to change…So when I start whining call me on it so I can keep focused!
I feel that fear is what has kept me from change!
So prayers on for our united front to achieve that place of homeostasis so we can help ourselves and our families and show them not only for their health but for all our future.
I have not been on track either fear has kept me where I am. Have the DVD Raw in thirty…have Raw for Life..Checking out several web sites on Raw-
Have Dr. Cousens book read it only tried a few recipies have not bought equipment yet to dry or a food processor but also becasue I am not sure when or how to start getting off the insulin so who can share with me how to go there?
Is that whining? Just need some direction?
Some say don’t start all at once some say don’t be completely Raw so much information. I do know that we all need a balanced program. Supplements if you don’t feel you are getting a balanced program.
Praying for Success!
Congratulations!!
This is such a great film, both are in fact, “Simply Raw” and “Raw for Life”. Awesome work, which can have a tremendous impact on millions of people…!!
We still get tears in our eyes looking at the 5 min. intro, after having seen both film tenths of times, just looking at the wonderful results in those lovely people. Giving them back their life! What is more holy, worthful or has more value in life than giving others their lives back, just with the natural food that our beautiful earth has to offer?….
Thank you all soooooo much for your great, fantastic work.
We love you for what you do for this universe, for the people around you, with these films.
Thanks!

p.S. You know the saying TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR LIFE , ONLY YOU CAN UNDO WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO YOURSELF!!!!!
Ok. You guys are constantly taking things to the next level. I LOVE that. More importantly, I really appreciate what you are doing. I think my mother who is diabetic and wants to go raw will really benefit from having a support group like this. Thanks!!!!
I am a bit confused by your eat raw method of dealing with diabetes. After five years on a vegetarian diet I ended up in the emergency room with iron deficiency anemia and Type I diabetes. Prior to going on the vegetarian, mainly raw foods except for some textured vegetable protein I had no indications of any kind of diabetic problem. I became a vegetarian in the spring of 1992. I ate fruit and yogurt for breakfast. My lunches weren’t too healthy as I would grab a sleeve of saltines and have a ginger ale for lunch. Dinner was TVP and fresh vegetables. During the summer of 1997 I began urinating and drinking a lot and began dropping weight. From July to the first of October I went from 132 pounds to 103. For years about 25 years I was 115 to 119. When I reached 130 on the vegetarian diet I began drinking Slim Fast. When I started dropping weight I thought the Slim Fast(Full of sugar) was working. My sugars were 889 before lunch. I was admitted to the emergency room after lunch and they didn’t even bother checking to see what my sugars were then. They just wondered why I wasn’t in a coma. The doctor stood at the foot of my bed and said, “You don’t fit the profile ( I was 51 years old), but you are a type I diabetic.” I immediately went off the vegetarian diet. They immediately put me on insulin. I got myself off insulin within five weeks of leaving the hospital and managed through great effort and discipline to control my diabetes with pills, diet and exercise for about three and a half years. It was just too hard and I went back on insulin, along with a mostly raw diet and exercise. I was never a type II diabetic. Friends have sent me the information about your plan. After my personal experience I don’t see how it can work. I’d be interested in your explanation of how it might work for a type I or II diabetic. I surely would have liked to miss this experience myself. I never don’t have any diabetics in my family. I had no symptoms of diabetes prior to my going on the vegetarian diet which was mainly made up of carbohydrates as Textured Vegetable Protein contains carbs. Since becoming diabetic I became aware of what carbs are and have stayed very controlled in that area.
Diane,
I would read Gabriel Cousens, M.D.’s book “There is a Cure for Diabetes” as it will give you an in depth explanation of what he does for diabetics.
I am not a doctor so I can not give you advise on diabetes but I can make a couple of suggestions.
Also, keep in mind that there is a big difference between being vegetarian and being raw vegan. It is not only about not eating meat but also about eating living foods that have what your body needs to be in balance. I have seen numerous vegetarians over the years that are very unhealthy. They are not eating meat but what they do eat is lacking in nutrients and is creating an unhealthy body. I’m sure you are aware of this as you have seen that the Slim Fast meals you were having were not healthy at all for your body.
Hope that helps.
Hi,
I love the Simply Raw film and Gabriel’s book. I have been researching a cure for type 1 diabetes for many years. I have been a raw foodist for almost 6 years. I became one after I heard of Sergei Botinko being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as a child but never having to go on insulin because his mother put him on a raw food diet and he got well. I have been taking insulin injections for 38 years for diagnosed type 2 diabetes. I went raw to hopefully be able to discontinue the insulin injections.
I am still hopeful. I have done several fasts. I eat only vegetables, seeds, nuts and oils, all raw. My insulin requirements have lowered a great deal, but still take it. How about some long term type 1’s getting of insulin? I have a news letter I send to a group of mostly type 1 diabetics who I will send this website to. This is such great networking thanks so much to Alex for putting this together.
Aimee
Thanks so much for the kind words Aimee. I’m doing my best to provide the best resources that I can. It’s definitely a team effort though. We all have to work together to make this movement work. Thank you so much for letting other diabetics know about this resource. Make sure to join our social network so that we can organize to grow this movement.
Where do we listen to Dr young about diabetes and ph?
Imagine we reverse Type 1! YES!
We will hopefully have Dr. Young on here soon to share his knowledge and wisdom. We’ll let you know when we do. Thanks.
Any thing that works towards waking people up to the simplicity of transforming their levels of health through nutrition is more than welcome. I am the managing director of a social enterprise in Bedford UK that has just atracted funding from the Department of health to open the first Raw Food Cafe in Central England that will be a centre for conscious human evolution and a resource for people looking for a better way of living.
Every thing that supports this is healping to grow the movement and thus aiding in the reversal of resistance.
Right with you on this one Dr Young
Hello,
I didn’t believe in raw foods (actually I hated the taste) but I finally listened to my wife who went on a raw food diet a couple years ago.
I NEVER thought that I would say this, but … my wife is smarter than me.
Almost 2 years ago my wife bought a diabetes book (titled “Death to Diabetes”) about super foods, raw foods (lots of salads) and lost 27 pounds. More importantly, her average BS went down to 87.4 and a1c to 5.1% and her doctor took her off the diabetic medication. But, he says she’ll be back on medication in a year or so.
When a friend asked her how she lost so much weight and got off her meds, she told her and helped her until her friend had lost 15 pounds and her doctor reduced her meds. Then, my wife helped her aunt, and then a neighbor down the street.
Anyhow, I felt that I had nothing to lose, so, I listened to my wife and tried this man’s super foods and raw food diet program. He calls it his “Death to Diabetes” wellness program, but the title doesn’t make sense, does it? My wife says it does to her, but not to me. But, maybe I shouldn’t complain, because my BS average went down to 85.6, my a1c to 4.9%, and I LOST 37 POUNDS in about 5 months [my wife is jealous :-)]
The author (Dwayne Mcculley, http://www.deathtodiabetes.com/) almost DIED from a diabetic coma, his book is well-written and very thorough — he believes in raw food dieting, juicing, etc., and explains step by step what to do. It’s so simple!
I was a little afraid of raw foods, I think because of the “bland” taste. But this author provides a lot of cool tips about how to make Brussel sprouts and broccoli taste sweet but still healthy for you! And, it works! I always hated Brussel sprouts because they’re so BITTER, but not anymore!
The author is an engineer. He breaks down the medical jargon and explains how diabetes really works, and why some diets won’t work, and why certain foods are necessary for blood glucose stabilization. He also explains all the myths about diabetes.
p.s. I am so happy to be off the diabetic drugs! AND I FEEL GREAT! So does my wife. I wish she would do what many of you are doing. But, she thinks it’s hard, and a lot of work.
p.s. It’s been more than a year now, and my wife’s doctor is surprised that she hasn’t had to go back on medication. He’s trying to convince her to take a low dose to be on safe side.
Sincerely,
Richard
