Re: Lymph Cleansing .. One of the most effective exercises in addition to yoga
would be rebounding which is used at many natural Health & Healing Insitutions
such as Hippocrates Institute in West Palm Beach Florida. Here’s an interesting
article about rebounding http://www.naturalnews.com/022716.html. Also check

    Manny,
We actually talk about rebounding during the interview. :) I love rebounding. It’s great for the lymphatic system. Thanks for posting the resource for others.

Shelley Young’s interview was helpful to me. I’m not alone in this transition time of my life from acidic foods to organic raw vegan. (I did not know that oatmeal is acidic to the body). As a Type II diabetic -allergic or sensitive to medications- food, exercise, and supplements are my means of control. I have good support from Dr. Michael Schachter, Center for Complimentary and Intergrative Medicine, Suffern, NY, and his staff. His suggestion to try Raw for 30 Days is my new philosophy. Into my second week, blood sugar dropped 32 points.
    Thank you.

  9. Hi Alex, thank you so much for arranging this very informative interview with Shelley Young. I am so happy Shelley is talking about the importance of a well functioning lymphatic system. As a Dr.Vodder Manual Lymph Drainage Practitioner, I see on a daily basis the benefits of a manual lymph drainage massage.

I agree that a rebounder is a great investment to keep in the house, especially if you live in a city and don’t want to run alongside polluted roads. I meet many clients who have relatives or friends either lying in bed with a longstanding illness, or sitting in a wheel chair for a long time. My advice to them is to gently and safely sit the person up in bed and, with them propped up, put their feet on a rebounder. You then put yourself on the rebounder, facing them, and hold their hands. Now, very gently, start to do small jumping movements and the vibrations of your movement will travel through their feet and upwards creating improved blood and lymphatic circulation, even with only tiny movement.

Without wanting to seem too picky, I would like to question one aspect of the interview with Shelley, which is her belief that lymph fluid can be excreted during a dry heat sauna. My understanding, from many years experience is that when lymph comes out of the body it is due to lacerations, abrasions and most commonly from ruptured lymphangioma in lymphoedema clients with poor venous return in the legs. This condition is called lymphorrea and causes the potential risk of bacteria entering the skin tissue and causing cellulitis (an infection within the deeper skin tissue which often requires the use of antibiotics).

I have recently returned from a 10-week kitchen apprenticeship at the Tree of Life in Arizona which allowed me to witness, among many wonderful things, the powerful effect an alkaline diet has in reversing diabetes. I am so pleased to be able to share in your excellent work and wish you every happiness for the future.

This is wonderful! I learned about the importance of the lymphatic system through Dr. Young and then Dr. Samual West of the International Academy of Lymphology (ial.org). It is always great to hear someone spread the word of its importance.
