“Why Some Diabetics Are Afraid of Raw Food”
Last night was a great night for us. We hired the local theatre and screened “Simply Raw: 30 Days to Reverse Diabetes” This video just blew us away when we saw it, so much so that after watching it at home we immediately decided to share it by hiring the local theatre. It’s one of those rare videos that has you jumping for joy. We printed brochures, we advertised, we talked about it on our blog, and after all of that the 110 seat theatre held just 42 souls. And please don’t mention breaking even! And yet, for us, it was a roaring success, due to a large degree to one little boy. Now you’d think that a movie about curing diabetes naturally would bring diabetics, wouldn’t you? Me too. But it actually seemed to bring raw foodies, and general natural health people – at least that’s the feedback we got from people as they filed into the theatre. It was only after the show, as people gathered in the foyer, that we discovered young Matt. All of ten years old, he’d come with his parents, and his Dad approached me first. “Are you hoping to run a 30-Day retreat?” “Yes, we are.” I answered. “Are you interested?” “Not me,” said Dad, “Him! Do you have age restrictions?” I looked at this beautiful kid. He was looking back at me with open, hopeful eyes. “Are you a diabetic too?” I asked. “Yep” he said, his eyes never leaving mine. “And would you want to go 30 days on raw food like the film?” I asked. “Yep.” He answered. No question about it. He knew what he’s seen. Of course, we have no ‘policy’ about age. Hey, we haven’t even arranged the retreat yet. But I’d love to see young Matt there. He’s Type A diabetic; the one the experts say is capable of producing insulin. Yet we’d just witnessed a young man on the video who got completely off his injections and medications, who stopped peeing at all hours, whose sight stopped deteriorating, and who had, as a result of his 30-day experience, decided on a change of lifestyle to naturopath specialising in raw foods so he could ‘spread the love’. (And only after the retreat did he learn that he was a misdiagnosed Type 1 ‘incurable’). I saw an old, overweight lady completely off insulin return home and begin a local awareness program targeting doctors and health care centres. I saw a elderly Italian American man change before my eyes into someone with light in his eyes and purpose in his life.. all because the proof was incontrovertible. The retreat worked. So even though there was only one young diabetic we know of attending, it was still such a great night that I awoke this morning still buzzing - because I knew we had something that can change lives right here in the palm of our hands. So.. there WILL be a 30 day retreat in the new year. There WILL be a chance to attend. It WILL change lives, attitudes and futures. I also will have copies of the DVD so you can experience the Video yourselves and pass the message on to your friends. My lesson of the night came from watching a 26-year old man on the video. He was being asked why he didn’t want to make the final jump to no insulin at all. His answer: “Because all my life, every doctor I ever went to told me I’d be on insulin for the rest of my life.” That explained to me why we had so few diabetics responding to our advertising and brochures. They believe that investigating a cure for diabetes, when their doctor has told them it is hopeless, will only bring on new pain and disappointment. So rather than investigate and come along, they stayed home with their insulin. This morning I talked to Peter, my own doctor. He agreed. People don’t believe they can be healed, and he added that research into anti-diabetes drugs is taking on more and more complex drug research avenues. Just like cancer, just like heart disease, just like just what is happening for about every ‘incurable’ ailment. And yet think about it! Raw food diets heal diabetes! So if you have a friend with Diabetes type one or two, please tell them to check out my site. If they just sign on to my newsletter I’ll make sure they have access to news as it happens about the video and the 30 day retreat. Why? Because I love the feeling of getting up in the morning knowing I changed the world in my small way yesterday! For you Aussies.. please let me know if you’d like a local screening and we’ll see what we can do in the new year. You can email me at ian@ionlife.info |

Thank you SO much for sharing this site! I battle against unbelief standing in the way of healing on a daily basis. I know how hard it can be to “swim upstream” against this negativity, as I was diagnosed as being diabetic when I was two years old, 42 years ago. I’ve been able to allow my body to heal itself of everything from MS to hypothyroidism through supplements and dietary changes, but am still seeking healing for diabetes. I have been on a raw food diet for 20 days. Although my insulin needs have dropped, I must admit that some days are very discouraging. I went off my pump for three days, trusting that the diet was healing my body, but was forced to go back on it after suffering from extremely high glucose levels. I realize that the length of my illness may necessitate a longer healing time. I KNOW that my body is healing myself and that God is returning my health to the state He originally intended. I look forward to the day that I can shout from the rooftops that I am no longer a diabetic and no longer dependent on insulin. Thanks again for this site!
Wonderful work that you are doing! Thank you!
To Pamela Reilly: yes, your body needs time to unload all the toxins first. You will have “cleansing reactions” while myriad amounts of stored toxic waste is leaving your body. Please, be not discouraged. You might need a year even two to be completely without insulin. Yet, this is better than anything you have seen.
My husband was dying with leucemia, we went on 100% raw almost three years ago. The firs 6 months were terrible time. Then after those 6 months his body started to heal, and his blood was back to normal when we were in 9 months of 100% raw. We are still discharging things, especially after 2 years of 100% raw, without any salt or oil or vinegar we have started to clean our bone structure. We also make sure we get plenty of fresh greens in form of green smoothies (www.rawfamily.com), and our intake of fatty foods(avocados, nuts)is limited to 10% of calories from fatty foods. Note NO oils whatsoever. Childhood diabetes is allergy to cow’s milk protein, that is a well guarded scientific secret. Go to google and look for cow’s milk and diabetes and you find it. Diabetes II is due to cow’s milk, too, but different way, as is Alzheimer’s, which is diabetes III. All scientificly proven.
It takes time for the body to free itself from the stored cow’s milk products. For me it took 10 years, but now for my clients, it has taken 2-3 years only.
You have to see that you do not have any cow product, if you have one teaspoonful per month, your body cannot heal! My email is rayanjan@wispwest.net.
My husband is type 2 diabetic whose blood sugar had gotten out of control. We both went on the raw foods diet the first of January and his blood sugar has dropped from 280 to 86 in just three weeks. Praise the Lord! He is hoping to get off his medication altogether but has cut it in half. We both sleep so much better and just feel better. Eating this way is not difficult for us. I am finding more recipes every day that keep it interesting.
Fantastic Diane! Please make sure to have him join the social network on our site as we need as many examples of people reversing diabetes as possible to help this movement grow!
There are others that don’t know yet or don’t believe that changing your diet can reverse diabetes and they need the example of people like your husband to make them realize that changes is possible. Thanks so much for your comments!
Stated above it says that in the Raw for 30 DVD one person who was thought to be Type 1 was actually misdiagnosed. If you are speaking of Kirt Tyson - please get him to state whether this is true or not. Because in a personal email to me he stated was INDEED a Type 1 Diabetic. And he was still not taking insulin and doing good. This needs to be cleared up.
Joan,
Let me know if yo have more questions.
Kirt was initially diagnosed as a Type II diabetic but then they fond that he was misdiagnosed and was actually a Type I. He is indeed still not on any medication!
I thought you were saying that He was misdiagnosed as a Type 1. Which is what has been written on other sites. Thanks for making it clear.
To Pamela Reilly: your husband was cured of MS with a raw diet? And was the hypothyroidism Hashimoto’s, which is an autoimmune disorder? Just wanting to know; I have Hashimoto’s, and my brother-in-law has MS. I would love to find success stories with both these diseases, using good wholesome food!
